Jo Tomalin - FacultyProfessor Jo Tomalin is a specialist in physical theatre, masks and classical acting who has performed and directed internationally and nationally. She has directed and co-devised original productions in England, France, Germany, Japan, Scotland, Taiwan and the United States.

As an actor, she has performed in plays and original devised productions in Belgium, England, France and the United States. She has given a master class in physical acting and characterization at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London, England and regularly teaches voice, movement and storytelling workshops at national theatre and puppetry festivals.

Professor Tomalin studied with the world renowned master of physical theatre and masks, Jacques Lecoq in Paris, France, where she earned her postgraduate Certificat d’Etudes. She also holds teaching credentials in movement from Goldsmith’s College of London University and in voice and acting from Trinity College of Dramatic Art, London, England.

Since living in the U.S, Jo has developed an interest in innovative technology and online learning and holds a Master of Science in Educational Technology (BSU, 2002) and a Ph.D in Instructional Design for Online Learning (Capella University, 2006). She currently teaches acting, movement, voice and theatre in education.
