An M.A. Student Thesis Project
Red follows renowned abstract expressionist painter Mark Rothko, and his assistant Ken, as he paints the famous Seagram Murals in the late 1950s, and explores Art, Philosophy, Music, and the tragic, ephemeral beauty of Rothko's work. Staged immersively in the Creative Arts building's scenic paint shop, this production transports audiences into the workspace and headspace of Rothko and many other artists past, passing, and to come.
